Health Equity Toolkit

Improving health care for all
We believe that everyone should have access to affordable, quality care. That’s why we’re partnering with providers to address health disparities and advance health equity.

When members have barriers to accessing care or fully engaging in their treatment plans—from transportation, to cost burdens or a lack of trust in medical care providers (as can be the case for members in underrepresented communities)—these challenges can have a major impact on health outcomes and overall costs. Acknowledging that 80% of health outcomes are driven by non-clinical factors, health equity gaps can impact your patients’ access to treatment; length and quality of life; rates and severity of disease; and chance of disability and death.

Partnering together to advance health equity
There are several ways we can partner together to advance equitable access, experience and outcomes. Review these resources to learn more about health disparities, and to develop and improve your cultural competency and health literacy best practices as you and your staff provide care for our members. We have also made it easy for you to find continuing medical education (CME) opportunities.
