We believe that everyone should have access to affordable, quality care. That’s why we’re working to build a health care system that prioritizes diversity, equity and inclusion. From cultivating a culture of belonging in our own workplace to expanding access to care for the people who need it most, we’re listening, learning and leaning into this important work.
Not everyone has an equal opportunity to be healthy. Health equity recognizes that everyone is starting from a different place and one size can’t fit all. Regence takes a personalized approach that addresses the whole-person needs of our members. We’re working to reduce social, economic and environmental inequities by offering support like transportation or in-home care for eligible members, better access to providers who speak preferred languages, and connections to food banks and other community services.
Data helps us better understand our members and their needs—and prioritize opportunities for support. Standardized data collection on race, ethnicity, language, sexual orientation and gender identity helps us improve access to quality care for underserved populations and reduce health disparities. Our broad data strategy allows us to understand the unique care needs of our members and address underlying social determinants of health.
We understand the LGBTQIA+ community has unique health needs. With services like our gender-affirming Customer Service team—trained to help transgender and nonbinary members access benefits, get pre-authorizations, collect documents and more—we help people get the inclusive, personalized care they need.
By closing care gaps and making quality health care more affordable across all groups, we can move closer to health equity. Regence is a leader in reining in specialty drug spending and helping our members save money on prescriptions. We also work to lower costs by growing our network of value-based partnerships—programs in which we partner with providers to focus on quality, not quantity, of care.
Embracing diverse voices and perspectives makes everyone better. That’s why at Regence, we weave inclusion into the fabric of our organization.

Our Employee Resource Groups help cultivate an inclusive workplace by creating community for employees who are Black, Latinx, Asian American and Pacific Islander, Veterans, women, caregivers, people with disabilities and/or LGBTQIA+, as well as allies. These groups not only foster a sense of belonging but are also valuable partners in amplifying diverse voices and educating the Regence community.
Casting wide recruitment nets and training managers and recruiters to reduce bias in hiring ensures we reflect the communities we serve. We partner with local and national organizations, like Partners in Diversity and Hiring Our Heroes, to sponsor and attend recruitment events for diverse populations. We post to a wide number of diversity-oriented job boards and welcome candidates with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
To create meaningful change, we know that we need to frequently ask, listen and measure our progress. That’s why diversity and inclusion are an integral part of our corporate scorecard. Regence has established an Executive Action team of senior leaders to hold ourselves accountable to advancing equity across our health plan membership. The Executive Action team champions health equity initiatives across the organization and ensures strategic alignment from the top down. As we work to build a stronger, more equitable future, we strive to move forward with compassion, humility and a deep commitment to learning.
